For identity security vendors

Be the identity platform AI recommends

Identity buyers ask AI which platform fits their mix of people, machines and AI agents. The answer usually names the platform giants first. Here is what that looks like, and what changes it.

What ChatGPT recommended this week

We asked ChatGPT three identity buying questions on 29 October 2026, each once, in a fresh temporary chat with no memory. One run per question is a snapshot, not a score.

Buyer questionVendors ChatGPT recommended
Best identity governance platform for managing human, non-human and AI agent access?SailPoint, Saviynt, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, Okta
Best identity security posture platform for a large enterprise with messy Active Directory and PAM sprawl?Silverfort, BeyondTrust Identity Security Insights, BloodHound Enterprise, Semperis, Tenable Identity Exposure
Best phishing-resistant MFA with device trust for a mid-size company?Microsoft Entra ID with Intune, Okta FastPass with Device Assurance, Cisco Duo, Google Workspace with Context-Aware Access

Microsoft and Okta appeared in two of the three answers. Several specialist identity vendors built for exactly these problems, such as AI agent access or Active Directory posture, did not appear in any of them.

Why the same names keep coming up

AI tools build these answers largely from third-party pages: roundups, review sites and comparison articles. When we checked 2026 identity buyer guides that rank for these questions (IGA platforms, identity posture tools, MFA comparisons), the vendors they listed closely matched the vendors ChatGPT named.

So the gap is rarely about product quality. It is about which vendors those sources mention, and how clearly each vendor's own pages answer the buyer's question.

What identity buyers ask

  • Identity types: employees, contractors, service accounts, machine identities and AI agents.
  • Environment: Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, cloud IAM, and the mess between them.
  • Outcomes: phishing-resistant MFA, least privilege, access reviews, finding shadow admins.
  • Alternatives: “alternatives to” SailPoint, Okta or CyberArk, and head-to-head comparisons.
  • Fit: company size, deployment effort and price.

What we change for identity vendors

  • One clear page per problem you solve (AI agent access, AD posture, phishing-resistant MFA), with what you do and do not cover.
  • Honest alternatives and comparison pages against the platforms buyers default to.
  • Integration pages for the directories and identity providers your buyers already run.
  • Accurate listings on the review sites and directories AI cites.
  • Pitches to the roundups that shape the answer, with the facts their editors need.
  • Crawl access for your trust centre and pricing, so AI can read them.

Then we ask the same questions again every month and show you what moved, and what did not. Nobody can guarantee a recommendation; we commit to the work and to honest measurement.
